Service and Mission
UCC Longmont has a long history of serving the wider community and service is woven into our community life. We have ongoing ministry teams organized around particular passions, intergenerational service projects throughout the year, and various partnerships with other Longmont organizations. In addition to these opportunities, children and youth regularly engage in service projects in Children's Church and at Youth Group. Some of our regular opportunities to serve are below.
"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another..."
1 Peter 4:10

Environmental Justice Ministry
The Environmental Justice Ministry organizes educational events within the church community, shares resources for advocating at local, state and national levels, and helps UCC Longmont live into it's Creation Justice Covenant. Read more about EJM here.

PB&J Crew
The PB&J Crew meet once a month to make sandwiches for HOPE. This is a partnership between Longmont Unitarian Universalist Presence, UCC Longmont, and meets at UCC Longmont.

Born to Read
Born to Read supports early childhood literacy by providing books to families of newborns. They meet once a month to fill book bags and welcome volunteers.

Seasonal Food Drives
Throughout the year, we host food drives within the congregation to help stock the pantries at local food banks. These are a fun, easy way to help our neighbors who rely on these pantries.

Gun Violence Reduction Ministry
The Gun Violence Reduction team's current focus is gun safe giveaways. They organize and raise funds for 1-2 giveaways a year, along with partners from other churches and area organizations.

Annual Bean Repackaging
For the past several years, UCC Longmont has purchased 1 ton of wholesale beans each fall. These are repacked into 1 pound bags, which are then donated to the OUR Center.
